Make it illigal for those so called ''recruit a friend'' WoW gametime to be sold!

Over at the WoW market section, there are a dozen people selling very cheap WoW gametime. What the actually do is use the recruit a friend system to get you wow gametime. What they than do, after a certain period of time, is charge there money back, which you send the recruit to. So the gametime gets removed.
I got scammed 50k WoW gold this way. Was to naive to believe the person saying ''it can happen, but the chances are slim'', so I bought another 2 months. Again gametime removed. Called blizzard and they explained the whole scam to me. My friend also had his gametime removed after a couple of weeks.

More and more people are getting scammed this way, so it has to stop. Please make this form of selling WoW membership bannable on the Sythe.
When something seems to good to be true, it most likely is....

just report it, gametime costs $15 its obviously being obtained illegally and unless they can prove their gametime being sold is legitimate they shouldn't be allowed to sell it here anyways. Unless I'm mistaken but even with RAF they would need to still spend $20 for the battle chest and if its being sold at $5/ month there's no way its legal

Yes you are right. There most likely using stolen CC and then charging the money back. There is just no way people can sell gametime for under 13 euros a month and make a profit. All those threads should be deleted which sell for like 2-3 euros a month and a new rule should be implented.

If you make a report on them I'm sure they will be labelled with a twc at the very least.

I have bought lots of RAF WoW Gametime and never had any problems.
Just find somebody that is trusted and you should be fine. I have bought from the
same person over and over and it's working great. ^_^
And sorry for the loss of 50k.

I don't really understand this - because it may be illegal it shouldn't be allowed to be sold? Most upgrades "May" be illegal, but nothing is done about it.

He doesn't mean illegal, he means against the rules on Sythe.
Some people think this is an actual black market but it's really more light gray.

Certain types were banished. Upgrades applied through credit cards were outlawed, which is what I assume he's trying to do here, in another sense.

No support, it's like receiving a "pin" or an upgrade in RS.

As long as you're well aware of the fact that it can and may be reversed, it's fine with me. You take a risk buying a $15 product for $3.

Ah I see, thanks for clearing that up.

I still somewhat feel the same. I mean, Sythe hasn't banned RS Account sales even though I'd say well over half of them are unsuccessful, whether immediately or recovered back later on. Just because sometimes issues arise doesn't mean everybody should suffer.

People get charged back for Runescape Upgrades as well. It's a risk you have to be willing to take to use those markets.

This can't be compared to Runscape upgrades. The problem with these kind of upgrades is it will 100% of the time, after a certain period blizzard removes those RAF months. Id happend to me twice and happend to all my friends, who have bought from various sources. The sellers advertise as its a small change, when in reality it always happens. Thats why I want them banned, because new buyers arent aware of the risks and spend gold/IRL money on it, expecting to be playing for the time they paid.

Also those rs upgrades which are illegal atm are through pin lines, whereas the ones being sold for wow account upgrades are through stolen credit cards.

Also atm it seems credit card memberships aren't allowed to be sold here. http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=787556 but it should also apply to refer a friend upgrades as well

I've also bought RaF game time before, like 2 years split between a few friends and myself. This way, we got each month for about $2.5-$3. In our opinion, it was worth it. When the game time expired, we bought more. It was only till recently where we found out Blizzard can remove the game time at any time. Apparently, the person who sold me the game time failed to mention it to me but said it was in her Terms and Conditions. I knew the person, but did not know of her Terms and Conditions, let alone a thread.

So bottom line is, Blizzard can remove RaF game time at any point as it breaks their Terms of Service.

IMO, it should not be allowed to be sold here.

Be warned. Just a heads up to the community.

I believe this is done by large gold-farming companies. These companies need to be constantly creating new accounts, and they don't need the RaF memberships for themselves. It's just a sunk cost, essentially it is all 100% profit for them. Sometimes they even offer to sell these mounts and memberships in-game to anyone who walks by, and they're willing to go first because even if 20% of people are legit, that's some gold that they wouldn't have otherwise gotten.

From what I've read, there are actual some good vouches for these kinds of sales. You've claimed that 100% of them are scams, if you can actually back that up then we should obviously ban this kind of trade

The way the sellers are doing it on Sythe is different. They let you recruit the SAME email as many times as you want, and buy multiple copies of WoW on the same email. Why would the do that? As it is only possible to play on 1 at a given time. Then after a while, they charge back all those WoW games from that email, this way your RaF gametime gets removed. And its most likely a stolen CC. From the 4 sellers on Sythe I encountered (my friends also bought) they all apply this method. Its the same email over and over again which you have to recruit.

If it's 100% then I obviously support removal but I've seen members claiming you can indeed complete successful transactions.
