    Over-Ear Headphones Guide

Disclaimer; To quote the sources below; "If you want a pair of Beats by Dre headphones, or you think they're amazing, that's fine, continue on your little ignorant way because what you're about to hear will anger you..."

EDIT; FIXED THE VIDEO, THANKS SILVER_J!

I mainly started this thread due to a post by a member talking about how Beats by Dr. Dre were amazing and that "you don't know what you're missing". Well, to be honest, YOU don't know what YOU'RE missing.

Here's some links, watch, browse, enjoy.

    Link #1
A video by ThatSnazzyiPhoneGuy, an audiophile and respected tech reviewer, explaining Beats by Dre headphones and Monster Cable.

    Link #2
TSIG's website, only a few days old. He covers many price points, categorizing the headphones into 3 categories; Best looks, sound and build quality. These reviews are not only based off of his opinions, but also the "Head-Fi" forums (a highly respected headphone/sound/audiophile community). I encourage you to take a look at the "Our Philosophy" page to become accustomed to the grading scale. Also, if you're reading the reviews and you become intimidated by use of vocabulary such as "sound stage", "sibilance" or "spectrum", you might want to check that page out as well.

So I understand your referring to me..
But I was using an example of Beats by Dre to the user I was explaining to.. He referred to Apple Headphones. And of course in comparison of Beats by Dre to Apple Headphones, you tell me what's better.
Of course there's Sennheisers or Audio Technica.
Beats by Dre are good, but obviously they aren't the best. I know what I'm missing and what I'm not. :)

Oh and for your video :

So I understand Silver_J was referring to me.
It is understandable that beats users are missing out on sound quality, but in what ways does this make anyone using beats ignorant?

    Silver_J,
I would actually rather buy Apple headphones because $30 is a better value in comparison to the sound while ~$400 is nowhere near the same value.
But, if they were both free, I'd take the Beats, yes. However, just seeing you recommend them was bad because when people refer to Beats by Dre when people are talking about good headphones, others think they must be good. To stop people thinking that Beats are good, we just don't mention them when talking about good headphones, because they're not.

    holy cherrys,

It's just a matter that people who buy them don't do any research when buying them, or don't care about the sound, or else they wouldn't buy them.

A common argument is that Beats have AMAZING bass. Well, my headphones are $250 cheaper than the Beats by Dre Pros, and have bigger drivers (generally means more bass). People who have Beats are just plain dumb, because they own them for two main reasons.

    1. Style
Who would spend $300-$450 dollars on something that is designed to play good music, and not care what they sound like. There are plenty of stylish things that have a cost less than $450.

    2. They think they're the best headphones out there.
Any imbecile that would spend $450 on something without even doing any research on it seriously needs to think about that decision. For example, would you buy a SUPER expensive computer just because the average consumer says it's amazing? I hope not, and that you'd go find some reviews of it and compare it to other ones.

Sorry if I offended anyone, but this is my opinion.
