QUICK QUESTION-need help saveing

EDIT: i need to have a new download for vb6, besides the one on the sticky on the visual basic forum (i have the portable version)

When saving you have to save the Project, not just the Form...

And I've never had that compiling error, so I can't really help there... Sorry.

 

Hmm based on the opening error you are getting, either somewhere along the line your are killing the file extension, or visual basic isn't set up to open frm files.

To save your project, you need to go to File>Save Project

 

when i do File>Save Project, it comes up as a .frm and a .vbp file on my desktop

 

Yes, those are the source files. If you don't save your form and your project all your progress will be lost when you close VB6.

You must save your project and form before you can make the .exe anyway, that's probably why you're getting an error.

 

You can make the Executable without saving the form files and / or the project.

 

Redownload VB6 from a different mirror/website.

 

Well, i dl'ed the vb6 portable link from the sticky on the visual basic forum, but i guess its messed up so if someone could post a different link for a download that would be great
