A Serious Situation

So one day, you're watching a movie when the phone rings. You pick it up, and begin a long conversation with a person you've never talked to before. They begin telling you a story, but you never catch their name... Here's the story they tell you:

"I just got back from a third world country, and all of the people there were kind. They suffered, they were poor, and they rarely had food, but they were kind enough to treat me with respect. Being one of the richest of fellows, I was often wondering if they were just wanting money from me, but then I met a girl who changed my opinion of such.

She was dark skinned, and quite beautiful. She told me stories of how the people lived happily, but in such sad situations. They enjoyed their loved ones, their families, and their life, and they were content with what they had. I was so touched by this, I had completely changed my views of life and money.

Being a rather rich fellow, I decided to donate quite a bit of money to them, and their city, in an attempt to make their life more bearable, even though they already loved it. With plenty to spare, I decided to marry the woman who changed my views on life, and all was going well.

Then, right before I was to fly back, the city was destroyed by terrorists. I had spent well over 3 million in helping their large, thriving city get back on its feet, only for the people of the city to be attacked, and ravaged. My wife told me that I should not feel sorry for what had happened, because I at least gave them one happy moment in their life before they died.

Saddened even more by this, I made haste back home and began sulking due to the loss. I found your number in the phone book by chance, and wondered...
