Pros and Cons of Def pure?

So I already have a Strength Pure (Obby Mauler) .. I have another slot on my VPS that I'm wasting lol. Are Def pures still useful? If so, how much Def should I get? 99? And should I get HP too? Cause I'm gonna SW it to make it faster. What are they good for, staking?

Pros and Cons of Def pure?

Def pures are nice, in some situations.

Back in 2008 I had a defense pure, and really it was nice.

Since I don't have the account anymore I can't give you exact skill levels, but I can give you some advice.

Try and find your niche, ranging usually is the defense pure's niche, find where you get the best advantage.

I used prayer, range and defense as my primary skills. I liked staying a lower level because at 60 defense everyone sees the dragon armor and wants it bad. But trust me at that low of a level, they won't hit through you very easily. In P2P, defense pures have a great advantage (assuming your primary attacking method is range) because the ranger is extremely strong, especially at low levels.

Defense pures may have changed though since the last time I played. I can attest that when in staking it works nicely and pretty much owns, lol.

Honestly, I have no education on Soul Wars, all I know is, it's good for training. Don't take me up on that one though.

As far as the staking goes, it works well. I am sure though that many people caught on and, thats all there is for staking. Defense pures are worthless without their armor though, because they can't hit in melee you're going to have a hard time if it isn't your rules. Usually, in staking, you would want it so it is no magic, only range and melee. And obviously, armor on. It's hard to get people to stake with armor on at a low level.

Find where you want to go, and what you want to do, you have options. Don't try and do both because remember with 1 attack you get hits in as often as you probably get laid (joke haha, sorry that was harsh).

    Good luck though to you.

I like defence pures more for skilling than pvp. Having a low level with high skilling stats and high defence, wearing full bandos is just too awesome.

Defense pures are good if you use range combo with them, try keep defense at 40,60,70 or 80. depends what dmg you want to do range or melee really.

    Don't go to Wilderness.
Defence pures are for staking with armour on.

best thing is that with the def pures is that u can be really low combat and hit 220s or what ever max is with dfs my summon tank got killed a hell of a lot by just 2 random def pures with dfs both hitting me with 200s lol

Defence pures are pretty good for staking. Other then that they are mostly just for show-off.

Defence Pures are going to be a lot less effective with so many around.

Pures won't stake people armor-on anymore, unless they're a solid 10 combats ahead.
