I heard this argument from my brother, who is a very strong believer. He understands that there is no way to prove or disprove god. To him it seems more logical to have faith because if god was not true there would be no point to life anyways. If it is true, he will go to heaven (rather than hell) and it will all be worth it. The evil that created religion used very manipulative tactics. It is designed to discourage it's followers from questioning gods existence.

A christian usually will see no point in their life if there is no life after death. The belief in god is a mockery of the complexity and beauty in mere existence.
