    Battery.

Well, Last Christmas (2009) I got a new laptop. It isn't much but it was something. It was a brand new HP g61 about I got it for about 600$. Up until recently everything has been working fine.

Now for the problem. I get a "consider replacing your battery" message an a X on the power bar. Nothing is wrong with it that i can tell the battery life is the same/near the same as it was brand new.

Any ideas on what could be wrong?

If it is still holding a charge i would disregard it.

    Battery.

This is what i am doing. The thing is it will only show it when it's plugged up and for about 2 minutes after i unplug it then it stops. It's beginning to worry me lol.

Seems like it could be the charger itself have you unplugged the charger from the wall completely and let it sit for a few mins and plug it back in.

    Battery.

As long as it is still holding a charge, then it is fine. You could call HP or search their website if you are worried about it, though.
