Hostgator just gave me 5 months free hosting...

cause I told them I was supposed to get a rebate, but that I paid late since my Christmas vacation. And they said they shut down the person that was supposed to give me the rebate, and understand it wasn't my fault, so they gave me 50 bucks credit on my account to just blow.

I was like O.O.

I did not get any of that.

 

I signed up for a rebate by using an affiliate referral, who would have given me 50$ just for joining and paying for 3 months (I'd be making 20$ that way). Anyways, I ended up messing up and not paying on time, so the affiliate couldn't credit me because he was not credited. Well, I talked to HostGator about crediting him because it was my mistake, and if I didn't get those 50$, I wouldn't be able to continue paying for my hosting account.

Instead of crediting the affiliate, they told him that he'd either lose his account or had to stop offering rebates, and gave me 50$ credit to my account because of the inconvenience .
