the rank is basically a way to build trust. such as if you donate $5 most likely everyone will go first to you if you are selling things under $5. Same applies to most things/people.

 

Probably not here, but if it was for a charity, then yes.

 

Agreed that does help with trading a lot. Honestly it saves a lot of time when your trading something small worth like 2$ and normally they want a mm or something. But the rank eliminates that trouble. I would be disappointed to see that leave if there were no benefits.

 

I don't think anyone would suggest for it to leave. I understand there is an incentive for donating but I was just curious how many people actually donated for the greater good and not the incentive. Probably wont get honest responses anyway though.

 

Ya, I'm guessing about 90% of the people will say just for the greater good to look nice and sweet. Although you can't really prove if they are lieing or telling the truth. I think the system set up is fairly good at the moment though.

He does get something out of it, Self-Satisfaction, It must be satisfying to know you've contributed to the upkeep of a website you visit.

 

I donated to Sythe specifically for the "trust" aspect of the rank.
Donating to Sythe is basically a way to prevent yourself from being scammed as well as supporting the site you use to trade.

Part of me donated to support Sythe, but I mostly donated for trust.

 

Basically he said

"Right now I would probably donate to sythe if the only thing I got in return is a thank you"

Probably refers to not having an incentive, which means he is saying he would donate if things stayed the same as they are with an incentive. But he personally already has no forward incentive because he is already an admin and not doing it for the rank or anything like that.

Very few people would donate. The rank is an incentive to donate.

 

I donated because this is a place I like to hang out. Even though people don't really talk to me, I still want to do my part.
