Muted for a year, but I can still talk!?

Hi everyone.

One of my accounts was muted for offensive language. About a month ago. At the time, I remember reading that it was temporary, and that I would be able to talk after 3 days. 3 days passed, and I could talk again.

Today, just for kicks I log in to see my ban history. My mute ban is still in effect And it expires a year from when I got it - it only expires in September 2011. I have been talking since the 3 days were up.

WTF is going on?

 

The offensive will be removed after a year.
But you punisment was only 3 days of a mute

 

But it says that the punishment - mute - expires only in Sep 2011.

My older mutes are crossed out.

 

The expires date is when they will be removed from your offence list and your green bar will lower.

 

Ahhh I get it now! thanks for clearing that up.

 

And i don't think they'd ever mute someone for 1 year.

 

the offence it self will not count for points in 1 year.

 

Send in a report of bug abuse to Jagex. I'm sure they'll fix it and make sure you're muted again.

That is the dumbest post I've seen today lol.

Who the heck would tell Jagex "I'm not muted anymore and I am supposed to be muted!!"

I know someone who's muted for 3 years, lol.

 

1 year mutes exist, so do permanent mutes btw

 

Even if the mute was for a year, it's not too hard to appeal mutes.

They even lifted permanent the mute of a friend of mine after about 1.5 years without his attempting to appeal it.
(That was during their unbanning period)

 

Perm mutes always existed, I was muted on my first account permanently, then after like a year I was un-muted. (this was in like 08-09)
