Admit to something.

Basically, this just popped into my head so bear with me.
How about if someone has done something and they know if they get caught, they will be banned - they could admit to it and only recieve perhaps a 30 day ban?
It's probably pointless but It just seemed to be a good idea.

Opinions?

 

This makes no sense. Everybody would be scamming and admitting to it, only to come back 30 days later.

 

Meh, ban evaders would do that.

So this means that you can get away with anything as long as you admit to it?

you've described your problem right there, If they know they're going to be banned, they have no reason to not admit it.

But what I'm saying is that, if they admit to it, they may get a lower sentence, unless it was scamming.

 

You shouldn't be able to get away with it, it will be thoroughly investigated and eventually you will be banned.

 

Exactly what I said upon reading the second sentence. However, they aren't going to get pardoned for simply admitting to it.

 

I understand what you're saying.. Let me just explain hypothetically.

The only motif i had to admit it because I didn't want to get banned, not because im truly sorry for what i've done.
