iPhone Headphone Volume Control

Yeah, I have the newer iPod headphones (the one with the microphone and the volume control), but I cannot figure how to actually control the iPod volume with it.

Is there something I am missing? I assume it works for the iPod considering the headphones were made for them..

Edit: I assume they're iPod Touch/iPhone only. That's pretty retarded.

 

Could you please post the model number and specific name of the headphones. With that in mind it is so much easier to help with problems like this.

 

The volume control ones are only for iPhone and iTouch.

 

Volume is pretty self explanatory.
One press to play/pause.
Two presses to skip forwards.
Three presses to skip backwards.
