Display Names

Say I bought a rare name, how would I go about transferring that name to my main? I was thinking buy rare name acc, get it membs, change its display name to something else. Then quickly change my main account to that name.

How would this work? Any better methods? Thanks.

 

That is the only method I know of. I did it for my one of my skillers.

Unlucky.. I just tried it with a random account. Name still unavilible. Hmm anyone know how long it normally takes for a freed up display name to become available?

 

To free up a display name you have to change the display on the rare name char twice (so when the mouse is hovered over your char in someone's buddy list neither of the names appeared will the the 'rare' display name).
As soon as you change your display name on your char for the 2nd time (to a different name obviously), the original display name will be freed up. This is when you quickly change your main's display name
So basically you have to wait at least 28 days


Source: I moved around 2 display names between 3 chars using this method.

Or you could speed the process up by changing your noob account's name to something offensive, and having it reset.

After it's reset, change it to something random and voila, the original name should become free.
