I think Jagex have made this game really hard for new players to get anywhere.
I mean if someone was chucked into the game with no understanding.. they'd have next to NO chance of success.:'(

Also, @OP, Jagex has tried to make Rs more friendly for new players. I think they've done an alright job of it.

Old runescape was awesome. Thing I liked it about the most was barrows was the best armour out there. Dragon chain was still worth a lot, and it was fun to trade.
