Who do you think is the best Martial Arts Actor?

Who do you people think is the best Martial Arts actor? I believe most of the best Martial Arts actors are from/in Hong Kong right now.

My favorite Martial Arts actors would probably be:

Sammo Hung:



Donnie Yen:



Wu Jing:



Yuen Biao:



Yuen Woo Ping:



Most of them have been doing movies for way more than ten years, some have been around since the 70's and maybe longer, not 100% sure.

I don't really get to see many international films (nor am I that interested in them) so my choices are pretty limited, but I'd go with Jackie Chan

 

Tony Jaa

 

Yuen Woo Ping choreographed the Matrix movies and Kill Bill, I believe, Sammo Hung was the main character of a show called "Martial Law" and Donnie Yen has been in a few United States movies like Blade 2.

I'm not really that interested in Sing4 Lung4's (Jackie Chan) movies anymore. I liked Police Story and Drunken Master movies, but his newer movies like Spy Next Door isn't like him, so I stopped watching him a long time ago. The Karate Kid should have been called the Kung Fu Kid or The Wushu Kid, because they were doing Wushu and Kung Fu there, but I didn't like the movie overall, in my opinion.

I don't know, probably the guy from The Karate kid (Classic version, not new.)
I don't really care for those types of movies.

 

Donnie Yen is amazing but I'll have to agree with Stuart. Tony Jaa is the best. Ong Bak 1 and 2 were fucking amazing.

 

Jackie Chan, only one I could even think of.

 

I find the moves very interesting to watch and learn from in Kung Fu movies, I love the choreography for a lot of old school Hong Kong movies.

I think Tony Jaa is great, but I believe that he hasn't done a huge amount of movies like Sammo Hung, Donnie Yen, and Yuen Biao. Back then in the 70's and 80's, I believe Yuen Biao was the best person to be doing acrobatics in Hong Kong Cinemas, but that's what I've heard. Sammo Hung, Yuen Biao, Jackie Chan and a few others trained in the same school, which was Peking Opera School.

Bruce Lee:love:

I believe he is one of the most influential martial artists of our time.

 

Donnie Yen and Jet Li are my favourites.

Edit: Is Tony Jaa the guy that played in the Ong Bak series? Ong Bak 1 was great, but the next two weren't so good.

 

Bruce Lee. The guy gave a new definition to martial arts and is a martial arts legend. Jet Li is pretty good, I guess. His style is somewhat similar to Bruce Lee, but not quite. Jackie Chan is probably the most humorest martial artist.

 

Bruce Lee's master is Ip Man, and Ip Man taught Bruce Lee Wing Chun, so the movie Ip Man, the main character was played by Donnie Yen.

Jet Li was really good in Wushu, he trained in Bejing Wushu Team, and his master was Wu Bin.

Jackie Chan's best movies in my opinion were Police Story series and Drunken Master series, but I don't like his newer movies.

Donnie Yen also trained at Bejing Wushu Team, but he grew up in Boston and then his mother then sent him to the Bejing Wushu Team, then I believe Donnie Yen met Yuen Woo Ping in Hong Kong when Donnie Yen went to visit Hong Kong.

I only ever watched Jackie Chan's movies, so yeah, Jackie Chan. The Rush Hour series was nice.

 

jackie chan for me too, Ive never heard of those listed actors before.

 

This. Rush Hour movies are the only example I could think of, I enjoyed the series too ^_^
