    Computer Problem

So it started happening about 3 months ago, after playing a game maybe 5-15mins my computer screene gets multi colors and everything freezes and to shut it down I have to hold down the the power button. I'm not sure what it is but it even does it on Runescape. Really starting to get annoyed and seeing if anyone else has this problem or knows how to fix it. I got it when I had vista and changed to windows 7 tryng to fix it but nothing. Any ideas?

If you changed your OS, it is highly unlikely to be a software problem. It is likely to be your GPU (video card) or motherboard playing up big time.

Did you update all your drivers? That might be the problem, because Graphics Cards usually have new drivers coming out constantly for Nvidia and ATI cards. Also, do you think it might be overheating?

Definitely a hardware issue. I highly doubt an old driver would cause a bug like that especially after changing OS's (during which you should have updated your driver).

Most like a problem with your GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), it may be overheating or it may be a bad solder joint under the chip.

Overheating usually causes the computer to cut off power to the board, so its most likely a cold solder joint.

I recommend taking this computer to a repair shop for reballing. This would most likely solve the problem, if it is the GPU. This can be quite costly though, so please run the smaller issues first, as others have suggested, those being bad drivers, etc.

    I hope I helped.
