What can I do to make games run smoother

I recently purchased GTA4 on steam, and needless to say, i already need help.

I loaded it up, everything went fine until game-play. It lags like no other and runs extremely slow (I mean like literally slow motion).

Anyway, I took a benchmark test - here are the results:

What do you suggest I do?

 

I know GTA takes ALOT of ram and you need a decently updated vid card so i would try to update your drivers if this doesn't work, Then u may not be able to run it.. I had an Nvidia 9800GT and mine acted the same way, SO that's just my opinion.

 

From what I know, the minimum requirement is a Radeon X1900. You need to upgrade your card. Can you tell us your exact specifications?

 

It looks like your issue is purely hardware related.
