We are talking about Corporal Punishment here, not Capital Punishment.

yeah imo now kids are being treated like adults and adults are being treated like kids, teachers barely have any rights now, in the UK anyway

    Corporal Punishment

I've had this debate with my girlfriend many times and it never ends in agreement.

IMO, if it was 100% confirmed that a person killed another person for an unjust reason, they should also be killed. Does this make the enforcer just as bad the the criminal? No, because the enforcer now has a just reason to deal such a punishment.

25 years in jail doesn't equal death (Unless killed in jail which I don't give two shits about). Obviously for cases that weren't 100%, even if proven guilty, those people shouldn't be put to death unless it can be 100% conclusive.

I've decided my quote for this situation is "Everyone has the right to life, but by unjustly taking away another human beings right to life, you forfeit your own.".

Surely though 25 years in prison is a more of a sentance than death afterall they will have little chance of paroll and will probs die before they get released.

If you live in america i'm not sure if you know about this person,
    John Vennables
Tortured and killed a child when he was 10 years old, the child was a toddler..
Does a 10 year old deserve to be killed?
Does he deserve to be let out of jail?
He was let out and given a new identity.. The government in the UK paid for everything for him.. 38inch television 2guitar lessons a week and much more..
He has now been arrested for child pornography.. He posed as a mother who was selling her daughter for sex..
In my opinion such a cold hearted person should never live..

    Corporal Punishment

How is it fair that those who violate the terms aren't disqualified from these rights? It isn't right that someone can choose to take that right away from someone else, and then have us pay for their stay in a prison. It's not cheap either. Prisoners have far too many rights, and it sickens me.

As far as corporal punishment, I believe in spanking a child when necessary. It's not like it'd be done whenever the child did something wrong, but there are situations where "a good talking to" just doesn't cut it. I don't believe that you should ever punch a child obviously, just spanking. Spanking doesn't even hurt that bad. What teaches them is the fear of waiting for it. I remember my mother telling me "Wait 'till your father gets home...", that was the worst part of it. It's a very good teacher, and I turned out just fine. I have a good relationship with my parents now.

Suspensions stay on your school record, when going for a job a suspension can lower your chances of getting a job/employment.

US has far too much violence because most states don't have corporal punishment. felons have nothing to fear. even if they get life in prison they will know they will be taken care of until they die

Life imprisonment is not much of a consolation. I would - and many others whom I've spoken to - prefer the death penalty.

    Corporal Punishment

This is the practical nature of corporeal punishment, and this argument is quite valid.

On the theoretical side, it seems that corporeal punishment should be used strictly when it can be logically established that the individual should not have the right to life.
