Larger monitor or larger resolution?

What do you people think is better? A larger monitor, lets say 24" widescreen monitor that can do 1920 X 1080 or a monitor that's 17" widescreen and that can do 1920 X 1200? This is just an example, I don't think there's a 17" widescreen monitor that can do that resolution, but which one would you people choose?

I would go with the 17" widescreen monitor because I believe that a less larger display has a sharper image than the 24" monitor.

I would go with the 24", as im using one right now with a 1920x1200 resolution. Before this, I used to use a 17" monitor with a 1280x1024 res. The 24" is definitely better, it has more space which allows more objects to be viewed and better viewing pleasure. I also find it better for gaming as it has full HD.
