Need help with my PS3.

Okay, so I have had my PS3 for two or three weeks now. And I just bought Call of Duty MW2. And of course, it has problems. The CoD multiplayer freezes constantly. Only the multiplayer, and its always when i am about to join a game, or searching for players. once I get into a game however it is usually six or seven games before it does this again. my xbox had an overheating problem so it has been months since i have been able to play CoD undisturbed... this is really pissing me off. I have done a lot of research trying to find out what the fuck is going on, but never the less nothing works. I have tried deleting all the files and re-installing them. I have cleaned the disc.


I did buy the game used, however I do not have the receipt. So i know it is not the console, because other games work fine. The disc has a small scratch in it, however i can play the campaign fine. So if anyone has any ideas on what to do, let me know please. otherwise i am gonna go kick the gamestop guys ass. because this is the most frustrating thing i have ever encountered with the PS3.

And i swear to god if i get ONE goddamn XBOX fanboy on here saying that is why XBOX is better. i will report you for spam, and try and get your ass banned. XBOX is not better. I had to send mine in for repairs three goddamn times over three years. now i have an overheating problem... so NO Xbox is not better, in fact the ONLY thing i am going to miss about the XBOX is HALO.

that's what you get for being cheap and buying used consoles

the ps3 most probarly has a fault in the laser causing it to damage your disks

there are no technicians here unless you send them your ps3 there is no1 you will get a solid answer....

 

can you play other games online fine? if so its probably the disc. all that you can really do is either get a disc repair or just buy a new game. it doesn't cost much to get it repaired, theres usually lots of local places that'll do it for cheap.

If you bought MW2 from Gamestop go back and tell them you can't find the receipt can you look it up for me? Because they usually ask your number so they can keep track of what you buy/sell there.

yeah thats what i was thinking. but i just wanted to see if i can fix it now instead of arguing with them... i hope they just give me a new disc.
