Lag CONSTANTLY!

Alright, I play runescape..alot.. But lately, I've been lagging insanely bad.. I'm not quite sure WHY I am lagging but I don't think it's my PC.. I run Vista and here are my specs..

What's wrong? >.<
I bought this pc but I decided to add more Ram [Was at 1gb] and put in a new Video Card...GeForce 240 GT.
I can't figure it out. I run Call of Duty games at about 80 FPS on high settings but I can't even run RS? wtf

 

Try changing your "Display Mode". Try DirectX, OpenGL, etc. Try updating drivers.

 

I;ve been also lagging constantly i dont know what the problem is i think some updates or smth lost whip today on my maxed zerk pure also ..

 

Same shit happens here.
Lost loads of stuff....i guess the problem is Runescape and no our PC.

 

I've tried all, there's truly no difference from what I've seen.
I have the latest drivers as well.
I even lag on Safe-Mode.

 

i have this same problem. my computer will lag all the time when im trying to play for up to 20 seconds at a time. sometimes when i'm playing runescape, my router will just reset for no reason. as with you, i have upgraded my pc numerous times.

the best thing i can suggest, is to try and stay in a world that has a low ping. the lower the ping, the closer you are to the server. this usually helps me. if not a lot, it should make a noticeable difference.

 

^^ what he said, the only reason you lag is because you're on a world with 120+ ping.

It is Runescapes server. I am running an Alienware M17x with an almost blank harddrive on a FiberOptic connection, and I am still lagging. It just started a day or so ago. My guess is it has something to do with the servers randomly going down. JaGex crashed a server yesterday. Fail?

 

Use worlds with low pings for you and change your display to "safe mode"

I had the same problem and switching to Safe Mode made a huge difference.
