Depends entirely on your CPU.

If you have 6GB ram but only a 2Ghz processor, then you'd lag running 3/4.

 

What the other guys said, it also depends on your other hardware. Grave ran about 4 SW bots (RSbots.net) while playing Crysis at max. So I estimate you'll be able to run about 8, if you have similar specs.

 

Well I have 1gb RAM and I can run like 4 bots no lag. So... I think it'll be higher than 8 as people said.

it depends on the weakest part in your system, limiting factors could be cpu, RAM, or harddrive

I have a 3.6 ghz quad core with 8 gb of high quality ram with good timings 4-4-4-12 and I have yet to reach a limit because I do not have enough RS accounts lol. If you have a quad core or an i5/i7 (I am upgrading to an i7 soon) Then you really shouldn't have a problem running 10+

Off-topic, but...why in the world would you ever get an i7 if you already have a stable 3.6GHz quad?

No it doesn't.
It all depends on...

1. What bot do you use.
2. What CPU do you have...don't just look at Ghz a newer 2 Ghz CPU can be faster then a old 2.4Ghz CPU...also the amount of cores depends on how many you can run. More is better if the CPU is equal...but if you have a really fast quad core it would be better then a slower Hexacore.

 

In that case, there is no way you could run 4 bots without lag on a 1gb ram.

Windows 7 takes up like 500MB of RAM on a constant basis, you'd lag like hell with 2 bots.

 

I don't know where you got that info, because it runs incredibly smooth.

 

I struggle to use firefox, msn and two bots with 2gb ram and a dual core.

Care to explain and tell us what it really is then, instead of posting a useless comment.

 

It's pretty much like this, if you don't have Vista/7, you can probably run up to 6-8 bots.
