    Hypnosis via the Internet, Fake?

I was browsing Youtube during a long night of insomnia. I came across the video seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRNNhOX55Hk&playnext_from=TL&videos=VhbNvTErd4A
This is an internet hypnosis to aid you in sleeping.
Do you think this actually works?
    Is it truly hypnosis?
How do you feel about people charging money for 30 minute videos?

All responces not considered spam should be justified.
Try not to flame other users.

    Hypnosis via the Internet, Fake?

It's probably fake. Note "probably" - hypnosis typically requires the hypnotist to understand his subject, and that isn't possible with a prerecorded video.

There's really only one way to know if it's legit or not, try it.

For it to work you must come in contact with the hypnotist.

Well, is it not true that Hypnosis is just contacting your subconscious mind? Would it be any different for you to have a face to face session with the hypnotist?

    Hypnosis via the Internet, Fake?

lol this reminds me of a story someone told me today.
They were at an all night grad party, and a hypnist came in and hypnotised like 10 people. completley, i talked to one of them today, and they said it was actually really calming. But i mean he had them do anything. He told them they didnt have clothes on and they THOUGHT IT! There is a vid, but i didnt see. so over internet imo = no. Possible irl = very possible.

    Hypnosis via the Internet, Fake?

I can't call all hypnotists fake. I am simply stating that I believe there are certain users taking advantage of people by promising them fake "peace".
I do believe in the possibility that hypnotism is real, as you have discussed.
There is always a possibility that the unexplained can be real, look at Harry Houdini....

I can't completely decide about this. I hate my insomnia, but I hate losing $200+ for a treatment program that I am not 100% sure will work.

It's not really fake, because it's all in your head anyways. If someone can do it in real life they obviously can on the internet. Don't listen to these brainiacs.

I highly doubt it works, if you can't sleep then try it but most people should be able to sleep fine.

    Hypnosis via the Internet, Fake?

I don't think it's fake. All hypnosis does is make the user recede into a calm, almost sleep-like state.
The hypnotist is just their to initiate and exploit it.

With the right person, I think someone could definitely be hypnotized over the internet.

Honestly, the only true "hypnosis" is acid. Try it. Go buy a couple tabs for like $50 and take some. That shit is good.
