The Penguin Massacre Story 1/28/09

Ok, the penguin massacre was basically a glitch that occurred on a penguin, which allowed u to spy on a penguin UNLIMITED times, u receive 2k xp or so for each penguin you spy on. Since you could spy on the penguin every second you could EASILY gain 1m xp in no time. On Jan. 29 jagex banned the majority of the abusers, but only temporarily. Many abusers achieved millions of xp which easily made them detectable. As of today (Jan. 31) Jagex has began to unban those who were mistakenly banned. Now here is the best part, their unban system had a glitch in it ALSO LMFAO! Though some who were mistakenly banned were unbanned, many people who did abuse this glitch were also unbanned. Due to a rollback on many accounts, the majority of the abusers did not benefit from the glitch. This glitch involved HUNDREDS of players, possibly a bigger glitch than the fally massacre, you can have your own opinions.

For some reason everyone liked reporting me, i had random people following yelling to have me banned.


After hours of chaos the penguin finally was taken out by Jagex.

Well the guy was going around after it happened showing off all his capes saying how he abused the glitch and stuff so i assumed he abused the glitch

They did a rollback on many accounts including mine so I didn't profit from this glitch NOW =(, my friend made like 700k and didnt use the glitch and got rollbacked lawl. I am sure you can find someone who is unbanned and didn't get rollbacked.

 

What were the penguins for in the first place?

 

Distractions and diversions. They give xp for each one spotted when you talk to Larry or use the Lunar Spell book spell "NPC Contact"

 

What reasons did they give for unbanning you.
