Legitimate feedback from a Lurker turned Member

I have lurked this site for a long time and have used it in the past but I have forgotten my other account and have ended up with this one. I like the site alot and hope to eventually become a regularly known member. I have good feedback and bad feedback for Sythe and hopefully it will be appreciated.

Bad feedback:
1. (May be mentioned alot)The threads in the Report a Scammer section seem like they aren't investigated/taken seriously enough. I have seen people make this complaint before but only for it to be attacked or shunned by mods/admins/members-sucking-up. The reply to the complaints have been the same "We have social lives" or "RaS is more organized than it has been in a long time." If its more organized that it has been in a long time, then I would hate to have seen what it use to look like. In the past 60 topics, I see that 30 of them have been answered. 1 out of 2 is okay I suppose, but 30 out of 60 is pretty bad, of course, I am comparing it to sites like Pojo whom their RaS section totally pwn's Sythe's :embar:

2. I think that some better perks should be brainstormed for $100+ donators.

Good feedback:
1. It's something small but I think its great when a mod says "Thanks" in the RaS section. Makes you feel like you helped. You would probably be surprised on how much courtesy from higher ranks can impact success of a site.

2. I think the forum categories are done really well.

3. It's cool that donators actually get perks.

4. For the most part, mods and admins seem really nice.

5. At first I doubted the vouche system and thought iTrader was far superior, but then I realized it wasn't so bad but rather just as useful.

6. Feedback/Suggestion sections ftw.

7. Go Sythe! After I get back from bootcamp, leave June 1st, I plan on contributing more and donating with an actual income.

30/60 = 1/2. If you don't have an suggestion to make the RaS better, then don't complain. It gets so annoying since all you guys seem to know how to do is complain and act like morons about it.

And we don't shun and attack people. They complain and don't give any suggestions to make it better. So we get annoyed at their bitching and the "suck ups" are just the people who aren't morons and are smart enough to understand what we are saying.

Yes, it is true...I can't imagine how long it'll take to verify that a person has really been scammed. I guess it's better than the 50 page thing, although I believe Kadaj should be given permission to the RaS. Also, it's harder being a mod than it looks. You should appreciate what they've done so far.

So before you say anything, try being a mod and do it yourself.

 

Do you know how exasperating it is to solve RaScammer threads? Most of them don't have adequate proof or have poor proof. You know why? The members don't read the goddamn stickies. They crop the scrollbar even after they've been told not to.
They give only parts of the convo. They give poor quality videos.

And Skele is one of the few globals doing scam reports. Give the poor guy a break. He is doing his best.

 

It would also help if people reported correctly. You wouldn't understand how annoying it is when people post chat logs, and don't post correct proof. It just really gets under our nails. Especially when there are alot of people doing this. It just makes you think, if people cannot be bothered to report correctly, why should I be bothered to answer them, and dig out all the correct proof.

I agree with you. Although, there isn't really much to come up with that hasn't already been suggested.

I think every moderator does this. And we really do appreciate people helping out Sythe.

I must say, I feel this is one of the most organized forums on the internet.

They might not be the best, but yes, you get them. The Donator Lounge may not be up too much, but it's there as a privilege. I think the best feature for a donator is definitely the Invisible Mode.

We do try our best. But when we get noobs asking nooby questions, that really gets on our nerves.

iTrader would of been abused SO much, it would of been taken down after the first week, and it would of been a waste of time for all the staff that would of helped set it up. Vouches are simple, and easy.

Where would Sythe be without our Suggestions and Feedback how to make this site a better place?

I was a gb ref if that counts But I guess with great powers comes great responsiblitiy lol.

Maybe they should have 1 or 2 more mods helping him then. I look at Pojo's scam section and they get things done with 2 or 3 mods there, even though their mods are completely rude which is why I left that site, but they were still fair.

I'm glad that you replied, you prove that the staff here is mostly nice, even if SuF tried to contradict that. But I read his profile that said he was only 16 years old so I cant blame him since he has a lot to learn in life.

 

Nice, constructed post also alot of nice ideas in there but yeah, i agree it's definately hard being a mod on here. I know i've not been here for long either but it definately looks tough. After being infracted because i was an idiot and didn't read the rules thoroughly, i made sure to read all the stickies and take a good look at the rulesm which will make the mods jobs easier.

So yeah, you seem like a chill guy, look forward to speaking to you when you get back or whenever.

 

Thanks! I know the mod's are great and their job is hard but, well, I guess that's why not everyone is a mod. I look forward to speaking with you as well. It took me a long time to find a good "blackmarket" site for virtual trading but I'm relieved I found Sythe.

Kadaj, I'm curious how it would be abused. I'm not saying your wrong it's just, I have used the itrader on Pojo and MTGsalvation and sure I have seen people people "ref scam" but they usually are easily caught as you can see their information next to the ref score:

But vouches are simple and easy ^_^ and everyone would lose them if Sythe switched to iTrader. But both sides do have their ref scammers.

 

I read your first post, not reading all the others.

If people don't post valid proof, it makes it hard to do the report.

The reporter should learn to properly so mods dont have to click X amount of links.

The reporter should read the RaS stickies before trading to know what to keep and screen shot whilst trading.

I think mods are doing a good job, however I don't like some staff, but thats just my opinion.
