rs at school

Hi guys.
so... i want to play runescape at school but nothing is working.
i have tried downloading the runescape client onto a pen drive and mozzilla
but nothing is working. i can go onto the website up until you get to the part were it says 'play now' I can connect until it says 'connecting to update server' then after that it all goes pear shaped. this is what it comes up with.

RuneScape was unable to connect to the update server. This is most likely caused by a firewall blocking the connection.

To resolve this:

•If you have firewall or security software installed, they can often block RuneScape from accessing its servers. Please ensure that RuneScape/Java can connect to its servers on port 43594.
•Note: Windows XP Service Pack 2 has built in firewall software. If, when loading RuneScape, this asks if you want to allow the connection, you need to say 'yes'.
•If that doesn't help, then an external firewall may be causing the problem. Please ask your network adminstrator/ISP to open port 43594 for TCP traffic so that RuneScape and Java can run correctly.
If problems persist, please refer to the Technical FAQs, which can be found in the Customer Support section of our website.


please if there is anyway i can bypass this please tell me before i get too pissed off at this bloody firewall

 

A possible better place to ask this is in the User Educator help forums, there are lots of techy geeks who hang out there, and it may be better suited for you to get a good response : D

 

School isn't meant for runescape.

 

i wasn't meaning for during school times... I was meaning after school

 

Go home after school? Or if your addiction is that bad that you can't wait till you get home then....

Google it or find the appropriate section?

 

No need to play at school. You're computer department staff probably locked it and didn't allow games or something

 

Who cares about school and RS. Nobody is answering his question....but yea i have been trying for a while. Everything was good untill the admin. blocked the word "proxy" I cant get passed that point either.

 

You have to somehow bypass the firewall settings. But honestly, i'd just go to a library if I were you.

OT: You need java etc, you won't be able to run the required programs without admin access, unless you're going to get access and cmd it up it won't work.

 

Runescape is blocked at most schools, and the firewall settings have RS and most other games blocked also.

Also, you may need to download/update Java but you need to be on an administrator account.

 

search for hotspot shield on google... that will let you access ANY site, including Runescape (you can also play Runescape with it)
