    Work in progress

It's been almost two years since I've done a decent vexel/vector, so I decided I'm going to do this one and actually complete it. So far this is what I have done. Over 5 days of work (Off and On), Over 200 layers.

The eyebrows look sort of weird but I've put so much work into everything I'm really not in the mood to change them so they are staying.

Added the eyes, which took probably 6 hours all together. It's been so long since I've made a vector I forgot how to do the eyes so I ended up redoing it about 3 times. I could have tried to put more detail into it but small details such as eyes, jewelry, etc drive me insane. I think I might take a week break because I'm currently going crazy.

PS: I also notice that the ear isn't included on this picture. I accidentally hid the layer and didn't notice until after I uploaded and post :p. Aw well, I guess that's the price I pay for doing such time consuming things to drive me crazy.

I Tried to take a break from completing this but I was so anxious to complete it I just kept on going. The top neck area gave me a little trouble but I was able to pull it off even though it's not perfect.

Lord that looks amazing! It's great to see someone bringing a refreshing new type of Graphic Design to the forums :) It used to be just Sigs Sigs Sigs! You use Photoshop for this I'm presuming? It looks like a great branch of GFX to get into... do you know of any good basic tutorials for someone that hasn't had experience in vector art before? (Of course I know my way around PS though).
Looks great though... Are you planning on completing the rest of the facial features? Or are you finished...?

Thanks. Vectoring/Vexeling is nothing new to the site, sadly majority of the users who vectored including myself are long gone. I'm not as active as I used to but once in a while I'll stop by. You can look anywhere on the net for a vector/vexel tutorial. The best place to look would be Deviantart. I'm planning on completing this one since it's been quite a while since I've done one. I'm kind of having trouble on the eyes so I will have to play around with things to get the hang of it again. Once I'm done I'll definitely be posting the completed version.

I'm sure I've seen your work before. It's totally jaw dropping. I know for a fact that I can't do the vector style like you. It's great, and adding to more of a wide variety. As for the piece, it's turning out great. I'll be checking in about every day to be watching what you do next to it. It's great in my opinion.

I'm actually not to proud of my past work :p. But after so many years of practice I believe I have some of the techniques down. The skin seems flawless to me now.

Yeah, these layers are insane. Once you get to about 200 it's hard controlling them all even when using groups. Hopefully this week break will give me some composure and allow me to finish this Vexel. To be honest, this is the part of the Vexel were I never return to finishing. Hopefully I can break that barrier and finally finish.

You definitely have some talent going on there. But I think the lighting on the face is a little too light.

Looks really good. Can't wait to see progress.
It's really good to see something other than signatures being posted, for a change.

Just updated the first post to show what I currently have finished. I have ran into some trouble. I currently have 382 layers to be exact and found out that my laptop is unable to handle so many layers. I might have to flatten all the layers in order to continue.

It felt like forever. It took me about 5 days off and on to get where I'm currently at.

That's actually the second time someone told me that. Now that I am looking at it. I do see that around the cheek area is too light.

I wouldn't say "too light", but I think the line between the highlight and the rest of the skin tone is too harsh - just some smoother blending would do fine to rectify that. Looking great so far man! You've made some huge progress :) How easy will the hair be??? Haha
