    Data

It's massive. The universe is bigger than we generally grasp.

A lot of us think on the matter level. How many planets there are, how many stars, galaxies, etc. But few of us consider the amount of data present in our universe. The amount of data on our planet alone is so incredibly massive it's not even funny.

While there can't be much debate in this topic, I'd like you to take a few minutes to recognize how large the universe is. Your insignificance will really kick in once you take a moment to analyse just how much of it there is.

For instance, for every person, there are thoughts, there are actions, there are memories, there are patterns, there are decisions, etc. There are 6.7 billion+ people in the world right now, and every second has a new thought, action, memory, pattern, and decision. Lets say the average person lives for 2524554080 seconds. (That's 80 years). Now lets attempt to grasp how many bits of data there are in each second... A rough guess would be several million zettabytes (1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 bytes = 1 zettabyte) (Including a person's particular position in the universe, and the setup of every individual at that time during that thought, etc.

While my calculator isn't large enough to calculate the amount of data for one person in the matter of a second, I'll take a guess that 1 second of a person's life would fill all of the world's servers.

The universe isn't composed of just matter, data is very important to recognizing just how insignificant you are.

    Data

I believe the universe to be infinite, so I definitely cannot comprehend which makes even graham's number insignificant. It's definitely a fun concept to think about although (especially when your high lol).

    Data

the vast amount of data of a single human brain is unable to be calculated, let alone an entire person's body in a lifetime, especially in relation to the universe.

A piece of matter in the universe holds so much data that it's just easier to think about the universe in terms of matter, instead of thinking of all the data that just the tiniest piece of matter represents.

    Data

I take it you were high as fuck when you posted that thread on the Illuminati? Anyways, ya it's pretty amazing how big the universe is and how small and insignificant we are. But for being small and insignificant, I believe we've still accomplished a lot.

    Data

Interesting thread. I say that most people prefer to use matter as a judge of how big the universe is as it is something measurable whereas data is a lot harder to derive.
