    Unreasonable Rudeness

While I'm not perfectly innocent of such, I'm becoming more and more upset with people who attack others without any just cause. Recently, for instance, I made a suggestion on the World of Warcraft forum. It was a simple suggestion, wasn't really too in depth, and I felt it was a great idea.

After only a few moments, users flooded the thread with idiocy, insults, etc. The suggestion went from a simple suggestion to a flame war. I, however, managed to maintain my head and simply asked people who insulted me to stop doing so.

This only brought on more flaming.

I've been on Sythe for a long time, and I've seen the same here. At Taco Bell, I find other employees to be rather rude at times, and I simply can't understand what would cause a person to be rude to another person without that person having been rude first.

So, what do you think of unreasonable rudeness?

I think there's more to it than just common manners. It severs connections between people, family, anything. It destroys the unbreakable unity of man from the inside. I really like to live by this axiom:
Treat your neighbour as you would treat yourself.

Yes indeed. I agree with that entirely. It's depressing to deal with folks who, without reason, are unkind.

It's unavoidable, throughout life you will find people who just want to put you down. Whether it's because they are maybe depressed themself and would like you to feel the same, or just because they enjoy insulting people, you will always find them. I find the best way to deal with it is just to reply with a comment involving language they don't understand (not foreign just advanced), and since what I would estimate to be a large percentage of Sythe users are young, it isn't hard to find vocabulary they haven't came accross before.

Happens to me all the time at school, in town with mates and just generally in my life. I think it makes people feel good about themselves (because usually the people that do it are either completely unintelligent, have no friends or can't cope with someone being different to them). Its the only way they can make themselves feel slightly less useless and inadequate.

Ahh well now...Unreasonable rudeness is more or less stress. People project their feelings onto others to make themselves feel better, not consciously all the time.

It depends on the person really, some people are just dicks, and are rude to everyone because they want to, and go about it everyday when some are maybe at their peak of stress and want to unload it and use yourself as a dumping ground.

As for the internet, I would never post one sided suggestions or rants as most forums like you said would swamp them with trolling and flame etc.

Go check out the RS rants section, 99% of replies are trolls.

Stand up for yourself. If someone at Taco Bell acts rude to you act rude back. Someone may do it because they're projecting anger in other places on to you, or to display their superiority.

This is true. Although rudeness ticks me off a little, I find it is best for you to keep your head on straight and not fall down to their level. This is especially a problem on the internet, countless times I've been abused on online games, forums, and msn for absolutely no good reason.

People never act for no reason at all. There is ALWAYS a reason, where it be small or major, there is always a reason. In this case there are multiple reasons why people act that way. You just have to let them be and know that they have problems in life and they try to take out anger on others to relieve their pain. Just ignore them and it'll be fine, it's not your fault they act like that.

Hahahahaha.. most people are ignorant wankers. It's just up to you to sort the good from the bad. Next time people are rude at Taco Bell, hit them with a taco.. that'll show them!
You also sound a bit too sensitive though, can't take flaming seriously.

It's not me they're rude with. It's not easy being rude with me as I don't give a reaction to rudeness. They're rude to customers, or snappy at them, and it's just like "WHYYYYYY????"

    /cries.

Lol. Sorry, that was one of those whole big IRC things. If it makes you feel better, I'm sure you passed your initiation and are now fully respected.....

    ....

    or not.

    ^.^

I think you misunderstand the use of unreasonable. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/unreasonable

Unreasonable is "something that can't be explained with reason". Not "something that has no reasoning behind it".

I'm not sensitive at all. I just dislike rudeness. There's no logic behind it, and there's no reason for it at all. As I've stated, I used to be guilty of rudeness all the time. I stopped because I found that you tend to connect with people better when you're not rude.
