Potential Merchant, Maybe?

As some of you probably know, I made a thread asking for assistance in regards to F2P merchanting. One very helpful user called Shall Skill posted a guide for me to look at from Rune Tips. I've read that guide, and using it I've being look at the Grand Exchange graphs looking for a possible merch. I came across this.

I think that by the look of the graph the item is about to rise any time soon, what do you guys think? Should I invest a little to try it out? Suggestions are appreciated as I'm just starting.

 

Just by glancing at it, they should rise 200gp per root, don't hold me to it though.

 

Hmm, maybe but just look at 180 Days: +101.9% maybe it's going back down to the original price :/

 

Thanks for your input. Come to think about it, that seems about right from my, non professional, eye. I'm really thinking about investing around 2M into this. That means if it goes up at a rate of 200gp per root = 200k profit.


Also, guys, can someone please help me with this:

Change in price:
30 Days: -1.3% 90 Days: -0.9% 180 Days: +101.9%

The selected bold information is what I'm stuck on. Does it mean it will increase by 101.9% or it has increased by that percentage?

 

HAS increased. I believe it will continue to drop, as it's just been manipulated.

 

Oh I see. So I should wait for a while before even considering this one then?

 

I wouldn't invest in it. I think it was a merch clan's item not too long ago.

 

That's a picture of a manipulated item. Notice it spikes during it's downfall? If you catch the spike you can make some profit.

Roots have spiked twice in it's downfall and it'll go back to it's original price soon.

I think I'll search for another item. Finally, "manipulation" is from merch clans and stuff? Who choose an item, get pretty much all of them then demand a higher price? Or am I missing something...

 

Yes, Manipulation is "Merch" clans. They bought out items and cause them to skyrocket, then sell them all.

It's risen loads. Does that mean it's going to start to fall? Or does that mean it won't fall soon, or what? Good to invest in?

 

Combat robes are populaur in Manipulation clans. The demand for them is minimal so this is the work f a manipulation clan. It's going to drop LOTS, but if you catch the downfall spike you can make some money.

Downfall spikes can be spotted by a lower drop price.

I'll give you a good item so you know what to look for.

So, if I was going to merch that item, I should of done it when it'd just started to rise, correct, right?

Reason theres that rise in the middle is that there was some update making iron bars more probable. It's a great wave item at the bottom of it's wave.

It's at one of the lowest points in 180 days. It's going to be shooting up soon.

 

I really can't thank you enough. It makes so much sense now! I'm thinking about splitting my cash, keeping 10% and investing 45% on each of those items. Cheers mate.
