[Search button irrelevant due to updates]
I fairly recently came into possession of an account that previously had membership.
I got it some decent levels, and set my own recoveries and email, but I am worried that the account will just be recovered with a credit card number. Is that possible?
If it is, I am not going to invest anymore time in the account.
The account's name is "Risking 1gp" by the way, if you want to hiscores it.

In most cases, if he has FULL billing info., then most likely if he tried to recover the account, he'll get it.

To Jagex, billing info. is ALWAYS superior to the other recovery information. Very rarely they'll grant an appeal with everything else correct but the billing info. On the other hand, if you forgot everything else except the billing info., you have a much higher chance of recovering the account.

It's what happened with a person I knew after he bought an account.

Lame. Well I have about 30 days of members left and about 5 mil, so I guess I'll go on a botting spree.

They can recover it with a credit card but if you have your own recoveries set and email they have a highly slim chance. I had somebody try to recover my own account due to a credit card payment and I recovered it once and he was not able to recover it again. Don't worry about it, just make sure you set your own email + recoveries, change the password two or three times to create a password history for yourself and see how that works. I highly doubt he would be able to recover it with only that information. Though! If he set his own recoveries, that's a different story. It's possible that he can obtain it from the recoveries set if he has them. So leads me to the question, do you have your own recoveries set along with an email?

If they recover it as a "stolen account", my recoveries will be deleted though :(

Oh, didn't see that I apologize. Since you have your own recoveries set and all they know is a previous password and credit card information they won't be able to recover it without strong details. Just a credit card payment can not recover an account. They need some account information and it's required to know at least three recovery questions to even be looked at from what I know, and what I've seen. Just take it easy, lay back and take it day by day. If something comes up you can easily recover it (they won't get it back, and if they do just recover it as they most likely will not do lost password, stolen password is why they need billing information)

Tofu i personally recommend just useing your own account, you never have to worry about some e-thug recovering their pixels, just a simple suggestion.

either way if he created the account he can recover it without the credit info,if you cant recover the account yourself don't bother working on it.

Once your recoveries and stuff are all set, then try to recover the account yourself as a test. Don't fill out the billing info., but do fill out the rest.

If that works and you recovered the account, then you're fine, most likely the other person won't be able to get it back.

But if you can't recover it back without inputting the billing info., then I suggest you stop working on the account and retract all the things you can from it.

If you're not the original owner then the original owner can recover his account whenever he wants with little information.

As long as they recover the account on the IP that they made the account with, they will be successful most of the time.

hm well email addresses cant get changed if the person who its set as doesnt want to so if you can set it now it should benefit you.

also change like a password every week as chipzor said it creates a history.
remember the password he gave when he sold you the acc.

its hard to buy accounts nowadays as all people do is recover.

So you swapped it? Did he give you all the info, like complete billing and his ip? if you have those you are almost guaranteed to get it back.

In the new system, billing info takes less priority...

Creation details are by far the most important pieces of info(date, first set of recovs, passwords). Old membership information is probably the next most valuable, then it works its way up chronologically.

I am botting on it a lot now, gained some cash, do you think I should just let it get killed by my other acc while my other acc has 100EP? Decent transfer method?
