Anyone have a job in the field?

This is a little different then my previous thread in the other section, so mods please don't delete.

I'm working right now as a web developer. I was wondering if anyone also had a job in the field. I'm interested in talking about who/where you work for, whether you like it and what kind of projects you work on as well as your future plans.

Personally I want to find a job in san fransisco or new york, so I would like to especially hear from people if they have a job there.

 

I freelance locally as a programmer and web developer. I don't do it as a hobby, more as a legal job. I currently hold 4 separate contracts with companies or individuals for developing and maintaining their websites and/or software. It is a great profession, but a monotonous one. I keep it as a second job, my first is Best Buy, but working as a programming nearly triples my weekly pay at Best Buy, where as before, I was making maybe $400-500 every 2 weeks, I now pull in $1000-4000 a week. It isn't terribly hard to get into the business, just have to get a few people to give you a shot.
