    light is too intense.
    you should try and gradually blur the b/g outwards from the focal instead of blurring the whole thing equally.

    Gonna use what squidge said as a basis.

    The right side is fine now. The left side is still equally blurred. Try to make it so that the furthest-most point, from left to right, is the most visible and clearest while gradually declining in visibility until hitting the lightning. On the lightning part, I think I prefer the first one, shows more definition.

    Also the grey thing's taking far too much attention from what i guess you're trying to make the focal (the face).

    the white line-thing seems a bit choppy, why dont you use a pen tool or something to recreate the line and add a glow?
