Hi, i got a quest to ask you of your about teamview

I got a question is that what is teamview, is it a kind of software or a service? How it will help to prevent being scam? I saw some people used teamview like this threath: http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=731124. This guy used teamview to trade. Anybody can answer this question, but i will say once and for all, no spaming on my threath, or else i will report it.

 

It is a piece of software that allows them to remotely access your PC. This is useful in the above thread, because you can login your account to the runescape website, without him knowing your password, and he can apply the PIN for you, to ensure that it works.

Hmm i see but why must it let them apply, can i apply it myself? Hmm it sounds secretive. Why don't want to let us know. why they want don't want us to know how they apply, no harm right.

 

There are a few reasons.

1. They could be 3 minute pins and they want to put it on real fast.
2. They wanna do something stupid on your computer.
3. They want to apply the pin themselves to make sure it works, but this can be done by logging onto your account on their own computer.

 

Teamviewer allows you to open a direct connection with another computer. This allows you to control their computer, see their screen, and a plethora of other things.

Pin sellers use it because some people don't trust them to hand their account over, so they use it to apply the pins for the buyers.

Be wary with Teamviewer, some people can do nasty things once they have a direct connection to your computer.

 

Yes, I just wanted to say something on that subject. If you are going to use teamviewer, be careful on who you do it with. If you go afk while they are using Teamviewer they could find a notepad file with some account information in it, or get you a virus or any other horrible thing. So, if you ARE going to use Teamviewer I suggest only doing it with people that you trust and always stay at the computer while they are connected to your computer.

 

Why couldn't you just go to Google and search TeamViewer?

ok, thanks for your help on this post, now i know what is teamview and thanks to drewskyd and xeleration for advice and i will be very careful.

 

Even if this is done, if vista is used, you can view the passwords via a command of some sort.

A lot of people don't know this, therefore there accounts get stolen.

 

Just to add to this, it doesn't really matter if it's Vista or not, there are other programs that do this. Never login to your account on their computer via Teamviewer. The best way to do this is to login to your account and go to the pin redeem page, and then allow them to enter the pin via teamviewer, and as soon as it's been redeemed, close Teamviewer.
