SS vs WHIP

hey guys i need to know what is better for pking ss or whip

depends if youre a pure or not... if you are.. a SS because it can train str, and a shield wont help you much.. if youre a main/tank etc, a whip + defender/obby shield/rune kite will help you a lot more =)

I agree with this. I like the DDS spec better then the SS spec though.

Accidently got 2 defence on my pure with a whip.

 

Whip is my personal favorite. I used whip for Pking on my pure, just be careful not to get defence. I just use it for atk, I don't mind getting 75 atk for GS...I'm not a big fan of SS too much for pking, but I guess you can try it.

 

hold on, whats wrong with a pure using a whip? Both are effective but both need a dds because both have shit specs.

It completely depends on your account. If you're a pure, the SS can be very usable. Although, so can the whip.

Pure: Whip < SS
40+ Defence: SS < Whip

 

I assume that Whip is STRONG, but GodSword is very very powerful

 

Wondering why you guys are saying ss is better than whip for pures

Whip is alot cheaper, and is 1 handed which makes it clearly better

Plus if you're 70 attack on a pure you're 70+ combat (unless you have a messed up acc) and therefor half the people you're fighting have defence where the accurate setting is better than agressive anyways

 

imo, ss is overrated. definitely not worth the price, just as Solidddd said.

plus, you can change the color of the whip to make it fit your outfit, if you care about looks that is

 

Whip is useful for PKing and training Attack or Defence. If you want to train Strength, SS is a better choice. Another advantage a SS has is the special attack. It's better than the whip's. You can't wield anything in the shield slot though so you're going to be sacrificing some Defence bonus (and Attack bonus if you planned on using a Defender).
