I have never really understood why having such a high post count is considered more trusted or secure than someone with low post count.
Some people like myself (check date joined) just like to read the forums and contribute when needed and is neccessary. If I was to attempt to buy or sell an item on this forum i'd be automatically assumed a scammer. I am led to then spam the forums so I can raise my virtual penis (post count).

Anyone else have thoughts on this topic?

No the more vouches you have the more trusted you are. Also when you have a bigger post count people will assume you won't scam them because you spent so much time posting. Also post count = huge penis :)

I don't know, I have always considered people with high post counts trustworthy (accept for a selected few). Its tough to explain my view XD

I have somewhat of a medium post count. I post answers, and don't post unnecessary topics ;).

I guess I could say I'm extremely trustworthy, if not the most trustworthy person to some staff members and regular members, but really it all depends on what you do on this site.

It's an assumption that if you have a higher post count you have been around for longer so you're known by more people therefore trusted.
Tbh, You can trust no-one on the Internet.
    Ever.

General stupidity and carelessness among leechers makes that happen.

I've certainly had more positive trades with leechers than trusted members.

    This!

Especially here on Sythe.org where the usual payment is via PayPal, you can get fucked both ways. Buying or selling.

Post count don't mean shit, you just have to use your common-sense.

Theres some people that post 30 times a day, and want to get the title (for example) Guru and they joined like a month ago, which you can tell that they are getting this title for a reason. (a reason? maybe its to plan the ultimate scam, who knows.)

Then there's people who take there time, post when its necessary, which is merely expressing there opinions.

I believe post-count has a degree of trust.

Like, because i've been an active poster on sythe for a while now (no where near as long as some other people ofcourse), but i feel i know certain people in a way, and therefore i know they wouldn't scam.

For example, regardless of post count, if there was someone you had just met, and another person you had talked to for 6 months, who would you trust more?

I'm only saying this if you seem to know the person, theres some people here with like 2,000 post count and i'm like "wow, i've never seen them before", in which case, i wouldn't trust them over anyone else just because of their post count. It's just generally, when people have high post count, i know them better.

Post count is usually known for how long you spend on the site, usually vouches are ignored and post count matters more to some people, but I think vouches > post count. Time on a website means nothing.

That is very true. Post count means nothing really. Vouches make you more trust worthy. Anyone remember Doritos' was it? the OMM and he scammed didn't he :S?
