Good way to get magic levels and not a lot of combat

NOTE* Please read through the WHOLE PROCEDURE

Yes, this will take a long time, but if you're an f2p range/mage tank like me, I would train magic like this.

Have you heard of the curses trick?
If not, I'll explain. The curses trick require 19 magic, a mud battle staff (membership required) and several pieces of armor along with huge loads of body runes.

What you're suppose to do is to cast it onto npcs, and since your magic bonuses will be negative due to the armor, you'll fail at casting the spell. However, you can continuously cast curse onto the npc if you keep failing, and you'll gain a specific amount of experience for each failed attempt. The reason the spell "curse" is chosen is because buying a mud battle staff with body runes will cost less, and hp levels aren't raised due to no damage being done.

NOW, what I've done is improvise on this method. My method will require no constant clicking, no cash (none to buy any runes), no required magic level, and no membership (however, you can do it on members' worlds also).

    The requirements are-
    1. Must wear Full helm, chest plate, platelegs, any kind of vambraces, 1 air staff, and a pair of boots (Fancy boots or Fighting boots works best). Wear NOTHING ELSE.

    Steps-
    1. Go to "Fist of Guthix"
    2. Choose a good world that is populated at "Fist of Guthix".
    3. Enter a game.
    4. Because the game provide you with the runes, you don't need any. Now, use your air staff, and set any (strike, bolt or blast) spells that you can cast.
    5. Find your opponent, and keep casting the spells on them.

Now what happens is similar to the "curses" trick, but you can use the auto-cast spells so your hands aren't tired.

If you are wearing the armor listed above correctly, your attack magic bonus should be "-68". This means that all the spells you cast will fail, despite however the game engine claims to have reduced the statistics of your opponent.

I'm currently trying it at 42 magic, each failed air blast gives me 13 xp. I can literally just switch to another window or use the time to study.

This is useful also because I calculated at my current combat level (41), to reach to level 42, it would take 10 more magic levels. Therefore, this way of leveling doesn't get your cb too high (and your hp level doesn't get affected).

    Tips & Warnings-
    1. Your ratings in "fist of guthix" will be messed up. This is one disadvantage to this.
    2. If your opponent tends to run away, just forfeit the game, it's not worth it trying to follow him.
    3. It's better to have a higher level opponent, because they're more patient and could careless if you're training or trying to win.
    4. If you're a member, and you have over 60 magic, just train in members worlds. I'm sure the spells that can be auto-cast will give more xp.
    5. When in game, if you're the one to hunt your opponent first, after you either allowed your opponent to get 5000 charges or you ran out of runes, just quit the game, it's not worth the time to let your opponent kill you after you've let him gain so many charges.
    6. If you find out your opponent is, for example, level 14, forfeit also. He's probably not going to last as long as someone such as lvl 58, lvl 78 or perhaps level 100.

I heard it was great training. I'm not 100% sure about trying it, but if I ever play rs again, I will.

Or you could just curse Lumbridge dummies, or high alch, or teleport.

Cursing advantages: Cheap, Consistent, No HP exp.
High alch advantages: Possible profit, consistent, Good exp.
Teleporting: Good exp, no hp exp, consistent.

Forgot to mention, my method is mainly for pures or others who doesn't have the ability to xfer money onto their account to afford runes.

This way is not cheap, it's absolutely free of charge.
