Looks good. The lightning may differ a bit in those 2 images.
That render looks a bit blurry. Did you apply feather on it?

 

I agree, i think the angle of the lighting is wrong.

I didn't fully cut it out, i just blended with blur, smudge and burn/dodge really.

 

Looks cool, I've done some photo manip before and you're on the right track. As previously stated, the lighting is a bit off but not hard to fix. You could have just darkened the sky directly behind the castle and left the brightness in the top right and it would have looked good. It still however looks open and plain, maybe you should have trimmed it down a little so there wasn't so much open space and you could have added other things like birds. Don't be afraid to get a little fantasy and make some cool effects with pen tool, usually comes out looking nice when done correctly with photo manip. Good job though .

 

Yeah the lighting needs to be darker In my opinion. Good work though.

 

Might want to spend a bit more time on the image especially when it comes to photo Manipulation. There is alot of empty space in the image and I felt there could have been more. What I usually do before I begin in image is visualize the tone, elements, concept, details, and then the graphic itself. I would keep that in mind, good job though.

 

thats a nice manip, you should add something more to it though, like some kinda of animal thing roaming the sand, or maybe a person of some sort. either way good job!

 

It is pretty good, but the top of the tallest tower has not been smudged+blurred efficiently. Good job though.

For a first I absolutely love it. Only one thing I noticed that I think would make it better is if you would post another version using other gradient maps and photo filters. If you still have the .psd, please do so . But for a first that's 8/10, and remember I don't go around giving high rates on things .
