While mod logs are a way to gauge a moderators activity, they are not the full representation, which many may think they are. Every time a thread gets locked, unlocked, moved, deleted, etc, you get a "mod log"

Infractions and warnings are not part of the system, so if a mod gives out a hundred justified infractions in a week, it will not show up on the report. And, there is also behind the scenes decisions that are critical to Sythe.Org running as efficiently as possible, which also of course do not get shown in the "mod logs".

i would like to see these, i think it would be a great way for the community to see how active a mod is in a certain aspect of there job.

I see no reason to keep them hidden.

Display them, would be nice to have a look.

it was you that made me want them in the open tbh.

should there be a rank cut of, such as addicts+ can see them or are they suitable to be viewed by everyone?

Mod logs aren't the best indication of activity. They are easily inflated - Tengauge had several thousand logs after only a few days, because he thought he was supposed to archive threads, and was doing them en masse. They are also a very raw number; you can't really compare mods' activity simply by the number of threads they lock. As mentioned in the other thread, bans, working with members over MSN to sort out issues, the input they give in Staff Discussion, etc, are also a reflection of their activity and dedication; the raw number short-changes the activity of many of the staff, and probably overplays the activity of others.

It's not that I'm against posting them, but I also see no reason to.

i guess it's up to a admin?

*waits for finn*

Agreed.... I really do not care if they are revealed.

I've got nothing to hide, I'm okay with them being revealed.

Regular member do not make the staff decisions anyways. We can scream, "dem0te teh mod1!1!!" all we want, but ultimately there will not be consequences.

Release the logs, please.

I said it in the post you quoted me for, and to back up what Sin666 said: Members will get the wrong idea if we show the mod logs in my opinion. They'll see someone (like Tenguage12) having a few thousand and think, "Tenguage 4 Admin!1!1!1" They might see someone that has been on vacation and think, "dem0te teh mod1!1!!"
And, some moderators might do redundant tasks like closing threads in the archives just for the sake of the mod log, to make it look like they're doing something.

good point, surely though if we implement a rank boundry all addicts/guru's up have some comon sense and knowledge of the forums. and as [n]ick said we have no power or say in much :S

should probably be voluntary I guess
Mine:
MegaMatt: There are 1021 total log entries.
There are 372 log entries for May.

People will start judging moderators by the number of logs they've got.

yeh volenty sounds good :S
