[Linux] How to install a .deb file

Hey, guys. I'm Pheromone, and this is my first UE guide. Hopefully it can help a newer Ubuntu / Debian user install things with ease.

    ToC:
    I - Introduction
    II - Installing

    Introduction
Well, here it goes. Hopefully it's worth it.
Basically, a .deb file is the .msi of the Debian distribution of Linux. The extension basically stands for .debian*. It is only installable on a Debian-based distribution, like the *buntu family. Same goes for .rpm for the RedHat core distributions (Fedora, etc)

    Installing
Without further ado, installing. Assuming you've found the .deb file you want to install (Whether it be skype, aMSN, etc), it's simple.
To start, have the file on your desktop or easily accessible folder.
Next, double-click the file. This is self-explanatory.
    It should look like this:

Now that you have that part down, click on [IMG] (Note: The look of the button will vary, but it does the same thing. I promise :) )
Once you did that, this screen MAY OR MAY NOT pop up:
It simply means that it's downloading more required files. Don't be worried. Let it runs its course.
Once it's all over, you should get this:

Click on the big [X] on the top, and go to the desktop.
Now, since I just installed Skype, it would be under Internet. So you navigate to the appropriate category, and click.

And you're done! Enjoy installing .deb files. It's not a difficult task at all.

the asterix (*) on the earlier part of the guide was put because the definition of .deb may need correction.

    Thanks for reading!
