I have a similar issue.
I'm not very athletic so I can't really date athletic girls because I feel more intimidated so to speak

Ok, here's the story, I like this girl. She's perfect. Perfect smile, insanely gorgeous, smart, athletic. Any man's dream.

HOWEVER:

She made fun of my math abilities, so the next day, I had a friend give her a seemingly hard question (seemingly, being the key word, there). And, of coure, she solved it no problem. So, I challenged her to spell antidisestablishmentarianism, figure she was a "one trick pony", so to speak. She spelled it.

SO.... I like her less because she matches me intellectually... and it bugs me, that something SO trivial is causing a riff between her and I.

So, how stupid do you think I'm being?

There will always be times when you are smarter than her at something and shes smarter than you at something.

Just accept the fact that you are equal. You shouldn't date someone because you think your better than them. As long as she doesn't think shes too good for you, then there shouldn't be a problem.
