I like the design of it, actually. It builds depth to the words, but the words need a similar accent to the rest of the design, through some kind of bordering. You may consider making the text a bit darker, too, in the same colour pallet as the tan space to the left.
Really amazing design i must say i would add a border and change the text to a cool blue similar to the background color but enough to stand out.
there is really no focal, so i didn't want to make the text blend to much, i have other copies with a boarder, and it looks bad. thanks everyone for the C&c :]
