Rap now-a-days is pure shit. The 'gangsta' stuff isnt real. Now go back before the 90s and you get real rap. I have listened to a good amount of rap. Real rap isnt 'oh my niggas went down and beat this one dudes head in.' Real rap is the struggle of the culture trying to thrive in a world that doesnt support them. Rap was underground because the white dominated record labels would have black artist do an original track and then a white artist would come cover it and they would put out the white version. Rap began out of small clubs in the slums, now its all commercialized and all fake. Fake in the fact that all of this gangsta stuff is just what sells and thats sad. There needs to be a revival of the culture. The real culture. Rap creates a bad image for black culture, and in the way that these battles reflecting the false sense of rap and culture you're support this misinformation on African-American culture.

Then you come back claiming only the rap that has been put out on record label is shit.(mostly true I might add, but listen to more). Then go to its history. God damn.. just look at the blues. It also started as people busking, small club bands but now look at it. People like BB King are world famous but do you call him fake? no.. yes there is alot of falseness out there and i do agree that the "gangsta" lifestyle is just a showcase for how much "hoes you can fit in my low ridda" but alot of the rap coming out is still about how they made it in life and how there upbringing was.
