What are a few you dieing bands you can think of? Off the top of my head I can shoot off Green Day. They were at the top and then just sunk off the charts. What are some others?

All the new rock bands there gunna die. They come out with 1 song that ppl like. The next day later its old and no one listens to it. Just an example The naked brothers band (fags in my opinion) came out with a song and bam there not famous anymore. Also another band i can think of is The Darkness

Hmmm, I can tell you bands that should just stop right now lol.

    In Flames
    Type O Negative
    Nine Inch Nails
    Korn

There are more too, those are just bands that should just stop making music. Their hayday has passed and they are trying to hang on and can't do it.

I would say yes to all but In flames, although most people are starting to lose there enjoyment or what ever you would call it from the band, they still have a lot of talent they're just broading there genre w\ there latest album.

I agree with purpledrank3233. Every new band will produce a single, sell their image for a couple of millions and end up their lifes with a nice story to tell to their childs "Hey son, I used to be a rockstar". Years ago(talking about 20 years ago) they used to produce music because they actually wanted/liked to do it, that's why legends never die.
Pretty much every rock band is dead at this moment.

I enjoy your claimed wit/wisdom on dieing bands

What makes green day a dieing band? The fact that after superhits they sold out to play arena shows and make big bucks? The fact that now they're playing plenty of big shows but they're not in the media as much?

Maybe it's the media dieing and not them

Except for the fact that Greenday has sucked since they became mainstream ... Well I thought they sucked beforehand but meh.

CoB really screwed up with BloodDrunk, so they've practically died - unless they go back to their old style of playing (<3 Hatebreeder)

See, I think differently. You may say they are progressing but I think they want money. Thats all they want. I went to go see them live about 3 years ago or so, and Anders said on stage that they are trying so hard to get on the radio. I think thats when I started to stop listening to In Flames. The new album is horrible, everything up to Reroute To Remain is great! Reroute was an amazing album because they were experimenting, Mayhem did the same thing and I absolutely loved it! Mayhem went back to Black Metal but In Flames went on with this new poppy age and its killing them. Sure there are all the teeny boppers out there who love that type of music and In Flames is going to still be pushing out music until the music of this age dies. I think personally they need to stop but they won't because they want money. They don't care about music at all, if they did then they would still be going with what they were at with Colony or Clayman.
But you know, everyone has their own opinions. I personally think they are dying and just trying to hold on and get popular with the teeny boppers, they are just full of shitty mainstream pop.

Anyways, Two more bands to add on:

Darkthrone (they are trying to be black metal still but fail now)

Mayhem (their hayday has been over for awhile, they are still one of my favorite bands to this day but their new album just didn't fill me with emotions that the other ones did, I felt nothing while listening to it)

    AT SWAN:
I think that BloodDrunk was a great album by the way. I really liked it, I liked the way Bodom has progressed over the years. They went from dark stuff to more industrial stuff. I think its fine though, They haven't really changed in their music like In Flames has but they have definately changed and I like it.

Well yeah that may be true why keep trying to hard if you have already made it to where you want to be? and I some what agree with swan I personally liked blood drunk a lot but there older albums were better. so in a sense they're going down hill. What exactly is so different from cob's progression and In flames?

The difference is that COB has progressed to a more industrial sound. They are essentially the same type of music but with industrial undertones instead of their old stuff which was more darker undertones to the music.

In Flames on the other hand completely changed different types of music, If you listened to Lunar Strain which was pretty damn brutal, and then listen to A Sense Of Purpose its a completely different type of music.

At least Children Of Bodom has stayed in about the same type of music, unlike In Flames.

Yes but things that stay the same get old, all people things etc. are going to change this is one inevitability. Just because something has changed doesn't necessarily mean it's bad.

Yes I know, but I still like the fact they stayed around the same style of music they have started with. What ever though this argument is going to get no where XD.

    Two more bands:

Opeth (I absolutely love Opeth but seriously, they are starting to get a little too soft. Still their new album was amazing but they are starting to lose it a little bit. They will still be around for another couple albums but they are starting to go a little bit.)

Mortiis (I love his dungeon ambient stuff but once he went to industrial metal that lead him to his downfall, he will never be as respected as he was when he was doing dungeon ambience)
