Yellowstone - Quake activity

I was in my Geography class today and I was told by my teacher that a super volcano in Yellowstone started to show quake activity during late December 2008. He said that such an explosion would cover most of the U.S. with ash and also throw so much dust into the atmosphere that the world's climate could change.

Why has the media not covered this story yet?! Its life threatening and pretty scary!

Does anyone else know anything about this?

 

Nope I did not know about this before. I'll look into it, but if your teacher said this was a possibility and not a certainty, it would be somewhat pointless to cover this story as there are plenty of tools that could be used to destroy the US, etc.

Lol, but really I think that it will erupt sometime between 2009 and 2012. Luckily, I live on the East Coast of the United States. I really wish I lived in Hawaii still though :x
