My Last Words on Sythe -- MatthewGor123​

I'm not asking to be unbanned. What I did was wrong, but I'm just gonna let my emotions write this post for me. I will not post the backspace button once on this thread. Seriously.

The past few months here at Sythe have been some of the best of my life. And despite the not-so-fairytale ending, I really think I have come away with some very, very valuable lessons and a few great friends. I'd just like to begin by naming those friends who like me for who I actually am.

1) Unb4nn3d.
Alex, you've meant more to me than any other person on Sythe by a longshot. We've helped each other in so many ways, and we've been able to make it through the good and the bad times with each other. Knowing that, regardless of what other people may think of me, you being there to defend me has really made it's impact on me as a whole. I hope we can remain being friends, even though I'm no longer going to be on Sythe.

2) Nathan'
Nathan, I'm really sorry for letting you down. Words cannot express my gratitude both for your confidence in me from the beginning {or anyways, since we've been friends} AND for your forgiveness after I had let you down. I really hope that despite how this may harm your reputation, after reading this post some people will finally realize that your choice not a poorly thought out, shitty suggestion but rather a good one that only turned out the way it did because of who I am.

3) Giddy
Gideon, though we've only known each other for a few days, I think you've made quite an impact on me as well. Talking to you the past few days has definitely made everything a lot easier on me, and you were really the first person today to really care about what I had to say, because you could relate. I thank you very much for this.

4) Evon
You were probably the third or fouth person I befriended on Sythe, and you've always been there to talk when I needed someone. Your willingness to help me whenever I needed some GFX help really motivated me to help people as much as I could. Thanks a lot, buddy

Lulz, you're funny Seriously though, you were always able to lighten up my mood whenever I needed it, and that has really helped me. Oh, and your guides are sweet!
Anyone who I have not included (Wtp, Tyson, Infected, Finn, etc.), don't take it personally. Please - I've only included the five people who I talked to recently on MSN that have been my friends for a while. You should know your friendship is extremely valued, because unlike some other people - my friendship is as sincere as can be.

So, what exactly happened? Why am I banned?

There are two answers:
The one most people seem to think is the case is because I'm a douchebag who finds great pleasure from leaking private information that he only earned by spamming and being a fake kiss-ass. I've gotten that a lot today. But for the few of you who have already heard the story, I'll basically shorten it to the parts that actually matter.
Basically, my willingness to help others and naiveness (is that a word?) trumped my senses of rationality, intelligence, and self-loyalty. I promised myself I would do a good job as a mod. I promised others I would do a good job. And I don't think I was doing that badly, until today, a "close friend" of mine asked me if I'd be willing to help me with an e-book he was working on. He said he needed help, and that he needed some staff information. At first, I refused, but then I sent him a photo of my Sythe homepage, with the Staff Lounge section appearing there. But was he satisfied? Nope. He asked for a picture of the entire Staff Lounge section, and I considered him a very close friend. Probably nearly as close as Alex, until this incident - just goes to show how naive I am, really.
I tried to refuse, but he kept pestering me until I finally gave in. Why? Well, if you couldn't really tell - I'm a good student, and I love to help people. At school, the only people who I'm really "friends" with are the people who just need some help. Matt, can you help me with the math hw? Sure, whatever. Matt, I need something to fix my computer, can you help? Sure, I'll try to figure it out by tomorrow. I've realized that, so I valued Sythe friendships pretty closely - where people actually like me for who I am...or so I thought. I was tricked, deceived, or just taken advantage of - call it what you may, but the blame is obviously on me for being too naive, insecure, and willing to help.
So basically, I sent pictures of the first page of the Staff Lounge to somebody I considered a close friend after being coaxed to do it. And no, I will not show ANYONE else the image. Obviously, I wasn't thinking clearly because by helping 1 person, I harmed directly around 30 others, but at the time, it seemed like something I should do. Even if I wouldn't've gotten caught, it still probably would have made me feel bad after I thought about it, but he convinced me. What can I say? I thought we were true friends, but I guess I valued an online friendship a bit too highly. Ah well - somewhere down the road, almost all of us have done stuff without thinking clearly, and without rationalizing the decisions. And maybe I should have listened to Alex or Rawr when they tried to convince me that this person really isn't what they seem to be. Ah well. I suffered from my fatal flaw - this is something I will continue to work on as I grow up; being more sure of myself, and being less naive.

Honestly, I've gained more from Sythe than I could have ever imagined. Five great friends, and one life lesson that will always stick with me, is something I never would have expected. I just hope that this community continues to grow with people who are always willing to help at the expense of their own time, money, or whatever. Thank you all so much for accepting me, and helping me feel wanted throughout my time here at Sythe. I hope you realize that in leaking, I was only trying to help a friend who I thought was in need, and that nothing malicious was intended whatsoever. I wouldn't do such a thing - not to a community that has meant so much to me. Thank you all!

Unb4nn3d - Matt was, and shall always be my greatest friend on Sythe, and one that I had ever made. We've been through so much, and I shall greatly miss his intelligent posts and helpfulness that he was always there to give me. When something was wrong, he was always there to point me in the right direction, for other users as well.

It's quite sad to see such a good friend go. :'( I'll always talk to you on MSN buddy, just ignore the faggot who ruined your Sythe career. You will be greatly missed in my eyes, and hopefully, by others.

It's nonsense he got banned for a screenshot.

I have no idea what it was in the Staff Lounge that is so important, but I think it is illogical to get him banned for it. The worst punishment he should have received would be a demotion, and a ban was not necessary.

...and I was really beginning to like him these past several days. I first thought of him as a douche, but he's really nice and smart if you get to know him. At least I'll be able to continue a friendship with him on MSN, thank god I got it before he was banned for this, which I think was a stupid reason.

 

I realize what Matt did was wrong, however I disagree whole heartedly in the ban. Everyone can make a mistake, and I don't feel Matt should have been banned. This isn't a dispute forum though, so I will just say that I will miss you so much Matt (and I'm sure the entire UE will as well), and it is very saddening to see you go. I wish you the best in life, as you deserve it. Pop in on msn from time to time so we can talk. Best wishes.

I'm sure he won't be banned for long. That's how these situations play out. Once the issue isn't hot anymore, he'll get someone to unban him.

I don't think I've ever read something that made so much sense and was so very true in my life then that right there.

You made a mistake you never wanted to hurt anyone, if you knew it did you would have never done it.

You would always go very far out of your way to help others. I can't imagine how much time you spent helping people with homework, you have helped much more that anyone on sythe.

I believe as long as someone has the willingness to learn and ability to admit that there wrong (like you do) nothing that bad will happen in life and one will always be improving oneself.

Wow Matt, I'v never thought you would get banned, Even for this.
I'v knew matt for a while now, He helps me with alot of stuff and answers most of my questions, I respect him very much, I think alot of people do for his helping around here.

I'm not so positive about this, but Matt said that if the Community really wants it to be finished, then he will fully put in his effort to get it finished. Just because he's banned doesn't mean that he can help out from afar, so he said that he will still do his best while Banned.

The Homework Help Thread stays. I suppose as I was secondary to the Thread, I now own it. If there still needbe any help, I will still answer any and all questions, and shall request help from Matt as needed.

It's still more than justified. There are obviously rules you can't bend and need to keep as a mod or an admin. There trust is highly valued and that's why they need to adhere to them.

I commend the staff for not letting things like this go.

You are a great guy no matter what over staff think of you. You have brought alot to this site and you will be missed. It's just a shame that you were put into this situation and lack of knowledge. I wish you the best for the future and in life.
