How about a lottery?

There could be lotteries in the new Sythe MMORPG.

Users can pay real life money for tickets, and the winner of the lottery receives a large amount of Sythe MMORPG money (or whatever currency the Sythe MMORPG will run on). In addition, Sythe won't lose any money by hosting lotteries, because the money they give away is virtual cash.

If you don't understand my concept, here's an example with RuneScape. Users pay real life money for tickets, and the winner of the lottery receives a large amount of RS GP. Jagex doesn't lose any money by doing this, because they can create as much RS GP as they desire.

Good or bad idea?

Turns out the majority of the posters favored this idea.

Here is how it will work out.

Basically, tickets will be sold online as intangible items through the MMORPG website. The users can pay through whatever form of payment Sythe decides to accept. The ticket is just a bunch of numbers. A code, essentially. In my opinion, I would personally allow users to buy up to a maximum of 5 tickets each per account. A date will be set when the winner is drawn. Once drawn, the winner of the lottery shall recieve the Sythe MMORPG money in his game account.

Sounds good?

It's alright. Not the best idea ever though. I don't think the only payment accepted should be real money. Maybe pins, etc? I don't have Paypal or any type of real money trading account. I also know many of my mates don't so this could annoy other people. Maybe add on extra ways of the payment?

 

I personally hate the idea. I've seen this idea in play in many others rpgs, and what they all had in common was one thing: Their economy sucked ass.

I don't think they should have many paying IRL cash features because all it does is ruin the economy.

 

I like this idea better than people just paying to get there gold..

i dont think you should be able to buy gold directly from sythe

only from other players, a monthly fee is fine, or just a lot of ads

 

Like what runite said the economy is a delicate balancing act (eve has a private specialist for their economy) as it is, this would set off the scale to make someone gain money for no in game time work once the game is developed. I think a broke some grammar their lol.
