Slow firefox downloads

Well this has really been a problem for about a year or so ...but I can download my full 1.3mb/s using "Internet Download Manager", but using the default download manager in firefox, I only download at around 300kb/s. I've contacted my ISP and they told me it was my current plan with them and than I upgraded to 10meg internet and still the same problem, but I started to download faster using Internet Download Manager. So idk what is wrong with firefox...I've had the problem on my old computer too. I have reinstalled firefox and been through numerous versions of firefox since the problem, but still no fix. I don't want the hassle of IDM anymore so I want this fixed. Sorry for the block of text but it's kind of needed i guess.

Use download managers like DAP or something. Don't download big files on your internet browser.

 

It depends on the thing you're downloading.

When I download using Steam, I max out my download speed. Why? Alot of seeders. Alot of people always have Sythe open.

Generally, a faster uploader means faster downloads. So you're probably downloading from a slow uploader. I might be wrong.

 

It's because Firefox doesn't separate bandwidth right...... Ive noticed when your downloading a bigger file (100 MB ++) , it downloads at a higher kb/s but when its smaller it goes slower...
