Need help with orb making

Ok well I'm completely new in general to graphics making, etc.

If someone could answer these questions for me I'd appreciate it a lot.

What program do I need to make Orb Avatars? (The nice ones)
Where would I get this (URL)?
How much is it?
Could you provide me with a couple of good tutorial links?

That's pretty much it. I figure I might as well learn how to make my own orb seeing as when I request it, it never gets finished. Just need that information above. Thanks in advance!!!

It more or less helps me. I still would like some more direct answers. I'm just curious as to the difference between Cs3 and other programs and which is best to use, cheapest, etc. Information like that. If anyone else can provide me with some more information I would appreciate it.

I don't like Photo Shop Cs3
I suggest Cs2 And I updated and hated it.
