Would I be liable for a server I helped promote?

Quick question:

There is a server offering a service of megascales - I have negotiated that I could get a slightly cheaper price if I were happy to help him advertise his server following the service.

I would be more than happy to put a link to his server in my signature for a while for example - with a disclaimer that it isn't a server I'm a part of, but with a vouch explaining they did a good job for me.

I'm wondering if I would be liable for anything if both parties agreed to this? I would like to do this:

1) Because it would mean a slightly cheaper price for me
2) He seems like a really genuine guy trying to break into the market and seems to offer good prices

Want some feedback before I consider doing anything like this though. Appreciate any help!

Basically yes - just the value is in server credit instead of cash basically.

So in that case, would I be held liable for the server?
